The first set of information about the Joint Integrated Program in Management Admission Test (JIPMAT) &#8211; such as the timelines for application, registration, and the date of examination &#8211; was released earlier on 1st April by the National Testing Agency (NTA). You can read more about that release, <a href=\"https:\/\/online.2iim.com\/ipmat\/blogs\/ipmat\/ipm-notification\/jipmat-2021-official-announcement-from-nta\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">To start with&#8230;<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Let us recap what were the details given out earlier by the NTA about JIPMAT 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed aligncenter is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"IPMAT 2021 Updates | JIPMAT 2021 | How do they affect your IPMAT preparation? | 2IIM IPMAT Prep\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/3hlfa5O537E?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\"><strong>The selection criteria<\/strong> &#8211; There are three parameters involved in the criteria &#8211; the candidate&#8217;s 10th grade score, 12th grade score and the JIPMAT score.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\"><strong>The eligibility<\/strong> &#8211; The candidates should have passed their 10th grade in 2017 or later, and their 12th grade in 2019 or later. Those candidates who are about to appear for their 12th grade Board examinations in 2021 (in the next few months) are also eligible to apply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\"><strong>The minimum eligibility requirements<\/strong> &#8211; The candidates must have scored 60% in their 10th grade and 12th grade Board examinations. A 5% relaxation is given for the candidates belonging to the SC\/ST\/PwD category.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\"><strong>Timeline<\/strong> &#8211; The application for JIPMAT will be open from 1st April to 30th April, 2021. So, a correct answer fetches +4, while a wrong answer fetches -1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The timing of the examination<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">JIPMAT will be held on 20th June, 2021, between 3 pm and 5.30 pm, for a duration of 150 minutes. The candidates who opt for a scribe will be given a relaxation of 60 minutes. There seems to be <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">NO sectional time limit<\/span><\/em> in JIPMAT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The exam fee<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">The candidates would have to pay a fee of Rs. 2,000 for registration if they belong to the General category, and Rs. 1,000 if they belong to the SC\/ST\/PwD\/Transgender categories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The FAQ section of the JIPMAT information bulletin<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Though there are multiple questions that are answered in <a href=\"https:\/\/jipmat.nta.ac.in\/downloads\/FREQUENTLY%20ASKED%20QUESTIONS%20(FAQs).pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">the FAQ section of the information bulletin<\/a>, the one thing that catches the attention is the following question:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\"><strong><em>&#8220;Is there any age restriction for applying for the exam?&#8221;<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">The answer to this question, as per the official FAQ section, is <strong><em>NO<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is the issue there?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/online.2iim.com\/ipmat\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Question.gif\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-430\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">The usual threshold for taking up the IPMAT examination in general is <strong><em>20 years<\/em><\/strong>. So, this information that there is no age limit brings with it some questions and doubts, especially given the specifications on the passing year pertaining to the 10th grade and 12th grade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That apart, the notification is clear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How should the aspirants prepare for JIPMAT?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">The paper resembles the examination pattern of CAT, to a large extent. The number of questions, the split across sections are all similar.
