The Joint Integrated Programme in Management Admission Test or JIPMAT was conducted on 10th<\/sup> August from 3:00 pm to 5:30 pm. JIPMAT is a national level entrance examination for admission to the 5-year IPM programme offered by IIM Jammu and IIM Bodhgaya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As gauged by the students of 2IIM, the Computer Based Test for JIPMAT 2021, conducted for the very first time, was easier compared to the IPMAT exams of Indore and Rohtak 2021. Though the questions spanned across similar topics, the students found the JIPMAT questions easier to solve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

JIPMAT 2021 comprised of three sections, Verbal Ability, Logical Reasoning and Data Interpretation and Quantitative Ability. There was no sectional time limit for the three sections, giving students the liberty to manage their time according to the section they found relatively easy\/difficult.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let us take up each section one after the other and break it down for easier understanding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Verbal Ability<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This section comprised of 34 questions, which is the highest among all the three sections of the exam. This section was easy with questions spanning across short passages, tenses, finding errors in sentences, fill in the blanks, parajumbles, antonyms\/synonyms and a few other grammar topics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We saw the focus of JIPMAT 2021 shift from long passages to shorter ones, as compared to the other IPMAT exams. The reading comprehension passages were pretty small with only one question entailing the passage. There were 2 such questions in the exam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Overall the verbal ability section was easy and students were able to complete the same well in time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Logical Reasoning and Data Interpretation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This section was a mix of 33 questions. The Logical Reasoning part fell into the medium difficulty level while the Data Interpretation part of this section was easy. Questions were similar to the ones tested in IPMAT Rohtak 2021. Based on the feedback received from our students, this section could be easily wrapped up in 25-35 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Quantitative Ability<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This section had a total of 33 questions and was the most time consuming of all the three sections. The questions in this section spanned across most of the Quantitative Ability topics like percentages, ratio and proportion, time, speed and distance, mixtures and alligations, set theory etc. Around 3-4 questions were from Profit and Loss making it one of the important topics to be covered for this exam. Questions also tested whether the students knew decimal system and the unit digit of an expression.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the whole, this section was easy yet time consuming. The questions in quantitative ability of the JIPMAT exam resembled the basic questions asked in IPMAT Indore 2021. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
