Odd One Out type of VA questions must be answered by the CAT Aspirants in the CAT Exam. These are must-attempt questions because the chances of getting these correct are high since there is only one odd sentence out of the 5 sentences. Understanding and linking the sentences with one another is the best way to solve these questions. Read plenty of articles during your CAT Online Preparation to understand the context that helps in linking the sentences together.
Five sentences related to a topic are given below. Four of them can be put together to form a meaningful and coherent short paragraph. Identify the odd one out. Choose its number as your answer and key it in.
Question 32 : 1. Displacement in Bengal is thus not very significant in view of its magnitude.
2. A factor of displacement in Bengal is the shifting course of the Ganges leading to erosion of river banks.
3. The nature of displacement in Bengal makes it an interesting case study.”
4. Since displacement due to erosion is well spread over a long period of time, it remains invisible.

Of the given sentences, only 5 talks of rapid displacement and sensitizing the public to the human cost of displacement. None of the other sentences relate to these ideas.
5 is the correct answer.
