CAT 2021 Question Paper | Quant Slot 1

CAT 2021 Quant was dominated by Arithmetic followed by Algebra. In Arithmetic, the questions were dominated by topics like Speed-time-distance, Mixture and Alligations. This year, there was a surprise. The questions from Geometry were relatively on the lower side as compared to the previous years. There were 8 TITA Qs this year. 2x + 4y + 6z = x + 4y + 8z
 x = 2z.
Now, let’s take any other two different baskets and try to find the number of oranges in terms of the number of mangoes.
2x + 4y + 6z = 8y + 7z
2(2z) + 4y + 6z = 8y + 7z
y = \\frac{3}{4})z.
We need to find the value of one basket in terms of mangoes. So substitute x and y values in any one of the equations.
2x + 4y + 6z = 2(2z) + 4(\\frac{3}{4})z) + 6z = 13z.
13 mangoes worth of fruits is there in every basket.
Hence the answer is 13.
