Question 16 : If both the sequences x, a1, a2, y and x, b1, b2, z are in A.P. and it is given that y > x and z < x, then
which of the following values can {(a1 - a2)/(b1 - b2) } possibly take?
Given that x, a1, a2, y are in AP and y < x.
So the difference here is positive
It is also given that x, b1, b2, z are in A.P and z < x
The difference here is negative
Therefore \(\frac{a_{1}-a_{2}}{b_{1}-b_{2}}\) is negative
The possible value should be -3
The question is " If both the sequences x, a1, a2, y and x, b1, b2, z are in A.P. and it is given that y > x and z < x, then
