CAT Questions

CAT 2025 Quant was dominated by Algebra followed by Arithmetic. In Arithmetic, the questions were dominated by topics like Speed-time-distance, Mixture and Alligations. This year, there was a surprise. The questions from Geometry were relatively on the lower side as compared to the previous years. There were 8 TITA Qs this year. Overall this section was at a medium level of difficulty.

Question 22 : A certain amount of money was divided among Pinu, Meena, Rinu and Seema. Pinu received 20% of the total amount and Meena received 40% of the remaining amount. If Seema received 20% less than Pinu, the ratio of the amounts received by Pinu and Rinu is

Pinu's share:

Meena's share:
Remaining after Pinu \(=100\%-20\%=80\%\)
\(M=40\%\text{ of }80\%=32\%\)

Seema's share:
\(S=20\%\text{ less than Pinu}=20\%-(20\%\text{ of }20\%)=16\%\)

Renu's share:
\(R=100\%-(P+M+S)=100\%-(20\%+32\%+16\%)=32\%\)

Ratio \(P:R=20:32=5:8\)
