CLAT Quantitative Techniques

CLAT Quantitative Techniques section tests candidates on two tenets – Data Interpretation ability, and Mathematical & Computational skills. Data Interpretation requires comprehending data from Line Graphs, Bar Graphs, Pie Charts and the like. Computational skills can be honed with a basic understanding of mathematical concepts like Percentages, Averages, and Ratios and Proportions.

The following questions on CLAT Quantitative Techniques have been curated meticulously, taking into account the latest samples released by the Consortium of NLUs. These questions are pegged exactly at the level of difficulty of CLAT.

CLAT Quantitative Techniques: Bar Graphs

The bar graph below shows the break-up of reported COVID-19 cases by country. All the questions should be answered solely based on the bar graph below.

WHO decides to recognize the country which handled COVID-19 the best. The committee set up for this decides that it would recognize the country with the least number of total reported cases as a percentage of population. Which country should be recognized by the committee?

  1. Brazil
  2. USA
  3. Russia
  4. Italy

Explanatory Answer

We’ve already calculated the total number reported of cases in each country, now let's calculate the total reported number of cases as a percentage of population:

•Brazil: (4/25)*100 = 16%
•USA: (5/20)*100 = 25%
•Russia: (1.6/6.66)*100 = ~24%
•Italy: (2.6/20)*100 = 13%

Answer: D) Italy (Italy has the least number of total cases as a percentage of population)
