Whereas the importance of ‘horizontal stratification’ with higher education is widely acknowledged, too less attention has been applied to horizontal stratification within compulsory schooling. – This sentence does not make sense in its first part from “whereas…..acknowledged”. Whereas is usually used to contradict the previous statement. Here it is used incorrectly.
B. While the importance of ‘horizontal stratification’ within higher education is widely acknowledged, far less attention has been applied to horizontal stratification within compulsory schooling. – This sentence makes complete sense and so is the right option.
C. While the importance of ‘horizontal stratification’ without higher education is widely acknowledged, far fewer attention has been applied to horizontal stratification about compulsory schooling. – This sentence looks ambiguous and does not clearly form a meaningful sentence. This option is wrong.
D) While the importance of ‘horizontal stratification’ on higher education is widely acknowledged, far fewer attention has been applied to horizontal stratification about compulsory schooling. – This sentence is not clear and the usage of “about” is rendering the sentence wrong. This choice is incorrect
