I. Sanjay is six years older than Gopal.
II. Gopal's brother was born in 1982.
III. Sanjay's brother is two years younger than Gopal's brother who was eight years younger.

1. I and II together.
2. II and III together.
3. I and III together.
4. I, II and III together.

Explanatory Answer

Method of solving this IPMAT Question on LR

From statement II, we know that Gopal's brother was born in 1982.
From statement III, we find that Gopal's brother was 8 years younger to him i.e. Gopal was born in 1974.
From statement I, we find that Sanjay is 6 years older than Gopal
Thus. Sanjay was born in 1968.
So, all the three statements are required.

The question is "In which year was Sanjay born?
I. Sanjay is six years older than Gopal.
II. Gopal's brother was born in 1982.
III. Sanjay's brother is two years younger than Gopal's brother who was eight years younger."

Hence, the answer is I, II and III together.
