Explanatory Answer

heights and distances
Let AB =x
AB/BC = tan 45
= > BC=x
OC = 100
CD/OC = cos 30 and OD/OC = sin 30
CD = 50√3 and OD = 50
Hence AE = x – 50 and EO = x -50√3
AE/EO =tan 60
Putting in the values and solving for x, we get x = 50(√3 + 1)

The answer is '50 (\\sqrt{3}+1))metres'

Choice A is the correct answer.
