Question 39 : The sentences given below, when properly sequenced, form a coherent paragraph. Each sentence is labelled with a number. Decide on the most logical order and enter the sequence of numbers in the space provided.
1. People here are one injury away from starvation, one misspoken word away from detainment or death.
2. Soon, however, she notices the lack of access to basic medical care or education.
3. Life in a rural Kashmiri village seems idyllic to Shalini at first, as she's befriending lovely people and admiring majestic natural scenery, especially in contrast to the cacophony of urban Mumbai.
4. Moreover, the ever-present political disruptions mean that life in Kashmir is far from a Shangri-La utopia.
Statements 1, 2 and 4 cannot start the passage due to "here", "soon" and "moreover", respectively. All these indicate there is an earlier mention of something. Hence, statement 3 becomes the obvious choice of our opening statement.
Statement 3 talks positively about Kashmir, hence the "moreover" followed by negative connotations cannot be the ideal follow-up to it.
Between statements 1 and 2, statement 2 fits in right, and statement 1 adds more to the "lack of facilities" mentioned in statement 2.
Statement 4 is an additional layer of problem, other than the already existing problems discussed in statements 2 and 1.
Hence, the right order is 3214.
