Question 5 : In a factory there are three types of machines b1, b2, and b3 which produces 20%, 15%, and 32% of the total products respectively. Further, machines b1, b2, and b3 which produces 3%, 7%, and 2% defective products respectively. Find the percentage of non-defective products?
b1 3% of 20 = 0.6 is defective and 20 - 0.6 = 19.4% non defective
b2 7% of 15 ≡ 1 (defective) and 15 - 1 = 14 is non-defective
b3 2% of 32 = 0.64 is defective and 32 - 0.64 = 31.36 is non-defective
By adding all the non-defective %'s = 19.4 + 14 + 31.36 ≡ 64%
Choice D is the correct answer.
