Explanatory Answer

The faster of the two friends will catch up with the slower one only after he runs one extra round than the slower one.
Here since the ratio of the speeds of the two friends is 3 : 2
The faster of the two meets the slower one once every three rounds.

Since the track length is 300m and the race is of 3KM length, the faster of the number of rounds to finish the race is \\frac{3 KM}{300m}) = 10 rounds.
Since they meet for every 3 rounds, and there are 10 roundsa in total they meet \\frac{10}{3}) ≡ 3 times
