The IPM Aptitude Test for IIM Rohtak wrapped up on 17 th July 2021. The total duration of the exam was 2 hours, starting at 9:00 am till 11:00 am. As gauged by the students of 2IIM who took the exam, the difficulty level of IPMAT 2021 was more or less the same as IPMAT 2020. The pattern of the exam was also the same as IPMAT Rohtak 2021.

There were three sections in the exam, Quantitative Ability, Logical Reasoning and Verbal Ability. The duration of each section was 40 minutes and the question type across all these sections was MCQ.

Each correct attempt would fetch you +4 marks and an incorrect answer would attract a penalty of 1 mark. Since the entire exam was multiple choice questions, there was a negative marking for all the questions. There was neither any sectional time limit nor any sectional cutoff in IPMAT Rohtak 2021 exam. This meant that the division of time for each section was to be done by the students themselves. Taking mocks would have definitely helped in gauging the time taken by each student in different sections and then planning accordingly for the D-Day. Another important thing in the IPMAT Rohtak exam was that no virtual calculator was provided to the students. The calculations if any, were to be computed by the students themselves.

The composite score for admissions to IIM Rohtak would be calculated giving 45% weightage to the IPMAT 2021 exam, 15% weightage to the Personal Assessment, and 40% weightage to the Past Academics which include Class 10th and 12th marks. For the calculation of Class 10th and 12th marks, the best 5 subjects would be taken into consideration irrespective of the Board Regulation.

This section had a total of 40 questions which were supposed to be completed in the allotted 40 minutes. The difficulty level was slightly higher in these questions and focused extensively on Arithmetic and Algebra. There were no questions on logarithms and only one question from Trigonometry.

A correct answer would add 4 marks to your bag and an incorrect answer would minus a mark from the same. Quantitative Ability is also tested in the IPMAT Indore exam, however, this year the number of questions was only 20, to be completed in 30 minutes. Overall, this section can be said to be on the tougher end of the spectrum.

The Logical Reasoning section is what sets the IPM Rohtak Exam apart from the IPMAT Indore exam. Indore does not test students on the logical reasoning section separately whereas IPMAT Rohtak and the JIPMAT Exam focus on Logical Reasoning as a separate section.

This section in the IPMAT Rohtak 2021 exam was a mix of 40 questions with a time duration of 40 minutes. The questions in this section, as communicated by the students of 2IIM, were easier than the Quantitative Ability section, but were a little time consuming. The questions spanned across Syllogism, Blood Relations, Inequalities, Statement-Conclusion and Assumptions, Analogy, Data Sufficiency etc. Syllogism formed a major part of this section with 6 questions from the topic. This section comprised of 40 questions to be completed in 40 minutes. Overall, the section was easy, but was inclined more towards Vocabulary based questions. A regular reading habit would have definitely helped you steer smoothly through this section.

There were 2 Reading Comprehension questions in this section comprising of around 12 questions. Other topics tested were Sentence rearrangement, Fill in the blanks, Idioms and phrases, Error Spotting, Synonyms/Antonyms etc. The detailed division of the topics is shown below.
