This is probably the easiest question of CAT 2019 is this question from profit and loss. This is a question which will not take more than 2 minutes to solve at max with or without practice. Every year in CAT, we get a couple of questions that are really easy. This definitely falls into this bucket. In exam under pressure, ensure you do not miss out on such easy ones.
Question 13 : On selling a pen at 5% loss and a book at 15% gain, Karim gains Rs. 7. If he sells the pen at 5% gain and the book at 10% gain, he gains Rs. 13. What is the cost price of the book in Rupees?
From the question, let us frame the following equations
-P x 5% + b x 15% = 7 ---(1)
P x 5% + b x 10% = 13 --- (2)

b x (25%) = 20
Price of Book = b = Rs. 80
