Question 9 : What is the ratio of the area of Circle M and the area of Circle K?
Circle K has twice the radius of circle M.
Let’s call the radius of Circle M as r.
Radius of Circle K = 2r
Area of Circle M = π r2
Area of Circle K = π (2r)2 = 4 π r2.
Area of Circle K is 4 times the area of Circle M.
Therefore, ratio of the area of Circle M and the area of Circle K is 1 : 4
The question is "What is the ratio of the area of Circle M and the area of Circle K?"
Choice B is the correct answer
