Similarly B beats C by 1 this means when B is at the end point i.e, if B has reached 10 km C has reached only 9 km.

We have to find by how many metres does A beat C.
This can be found by simple ratio concept.
If A runs 10 km, B runs 9 km and also when B runs 9 km C runs \\frac{9 × 9}{10}) = 8.1
That is when A runs 10 km C runs 8.1 km or in other words C lags behind A by 1.9 km which is equal to 1900 metres.

The question is "In a 10 km race. A, B, and C, each running at uniform speed, get the gold, silver, and bronze medals, respectively. If A beats B by 1 km and B beats C by 1 km, then by how many metres does A beat C? [TITA]"

Hence, the answer is 1900
