CAT 2019 was conducted on the 24th of November 2019. The exam had a few surprises along the way and it will take at least a week for the hysteria to die down. That is just enough time for IIM-K to release the Official Answer Key for CAT 2019.
We have an entire post dedicated for CAT 2019 analysis including CAT 2019 Score Vs Percentile Prediction & detailed video analysis!
A quick recap on what happened in CAT 2019 –
- VARC was harder than anticipated
- DILR was slightly easier than CAT 2018 or maybe we are just getting better at this
- Quants was comparatively easier (CAT 2018 was an ordeal)
Meanwhile check out this article for a detailed take on both the sessions of CAT 2019.
CAT 2019 Answer Key
If there is a pattern that can be read, IIM-Kozhikode should be releasing the Official Answer Key for CAT 2019 by the end of first week of December 2019.
Where can you find the Answer Key?
- We will be sharing the Official CAT Answer Key on this blog.

Downloaded the Answer Key. What next?
The key along with your response sheet will enable you to calculate your CAT scores before the Official CAT 2019 Scores & Percentiles get released sometime in January of 2020.
Where can you find the Response Sheet?
- Visit the official CAT website
- Use your login credentials (Registration Number and Password)
- Navigate to the CAT 2019 Response Sheet link
- The response sheet should be available for download
Marking Scheme for CAT exam is follows
- MCQ’s +3 for correct answer & -1 for incorrect answer
- TITA +3 for correct answer & no negative marks for incorrect answer
- You will not get penalised for questions you did not attempt
If you find inconsistencies in the answer key, you get a window of opportunity to raise an objection online at a price specified by the CAT authorities. CAT then reassess the answer key and responds to your claims by either correcting the answer key in the case of an error, or suggesting why their key is right.
What to do until then?
Relax. Binge watch your favourite webisode. Prepare for IIFT/XAT/Snap (maybe?)
You’ve done what you could do for CAT 2019. Now is the time to maintain your composure and wait for CAT authorities to make the next move, which is to release the official answer key and your response sheets.
