Exam Pattern

Quantitative ability & Data Interpretation

SNAP exam has always had a heavy emphasis on Arithmetic questions. It covers topics like – Time and work, Mixtures and Alligations, Ratio and Proportion, Percentages, Time and Distance, Averages and Profit and loss. As far as geometry is concerned, Mensuration has been a fairly regular part of the exam.

The Data Interpretation questions that are generally asked in SNAP are easy, and are not as tough as the ones asked in CAT or as calculation intensive as the ones asked in the IIFT test. An attempt of 24-28 questions within 40 minutes should land you in the safe zone.

General English

This is an easy section in SNAP. It features a host of vocabulary questions, grammar questions and short RC passages. This section generally has questions from the following areas : Verbal Reasoning, Vocabulary, spot the error, and Para Jumbles

Analytical & Logical reasoning

This section is a potpourri of sorts, and features questions from diverse areas. The popular areas from which questions are : critical reasoning, deductive logic, analogies, logical reasoning sets, series, visual reasoning, arrangement, blood relations, and puzzles.

How to crack SNAP?

Preparation tips for Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation

Revise the class 9-10 concept and practice previous years question paper. You should also attempt mock tests regularly to identify your strong and weak area.

Preparation tips for General English

Read articles and good books daily. Try to learn a few words daily because SNAP has a tendency of asking vocabulary and grammar based question.

Preparation tips for Analytical & Logical Reasoning

Practice 2-3 logical reasoning puzzles on a daily basis and solve all sets that have appeared before in SNAP.

Overall, you need to understand that the test is a reflection of certain managerial skills. You can do well by upholding basic management principles like right prioritization, strategic approach to different sections and a judicious mix of speed and accuracy!

Best wishes.

The heights by great men reached and kept were not attained by sudden flight,
but they, while their companions slept,
were toiling upward in the night.
