What is MAH-CET?
Maharashtra Common Entrance test (MAH-CET), officially known as MAH MBA/MMS-CET is a state level exam conducted by the State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra. MAH-CET is conducted for admissions into management colleges located in the state. The test is computer based and over one lakh students take this exam in around 40+ cities across the country.
Any student having a bachelor’s degree with 50% marks (45% in case of reserved categories) as well as final year students awaiting results can apply for the exam.
MAH-CET 2020 exam was conducted in the second week of March last year, but due to the pandemic and uncertain circumstances MAH-CET 2021 exam has been delayed by around 5 months. The exam date for MAH-CET 2021 is yet to be announced.
Colleges under MAH-CET
Around 300+ colleges in Maharashtra offer admissions on the basis of MAH-CET. Some of the prestigious institutes include JBIMS, KJ Somaiya, Welingkar, SIMSREE among others.
The admission in these colleges is offered to the students of Maharashtra as well as Outside Maharashtra State (OMS) students.
Exam Pattern and Syllabus
MAH-CET is generally conducted over a span of two days, in four sessions. The duration of the exam is 2.5 hours.
The exam is divided into 3 sections, namely Logical/Abstract Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude and Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension. The questions asked in the exam are multiple choice questions (MCQs) and there is no negative marking in the MAH-CET Exam.
After the declaration of MAH-CET result, the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Maharashtra conducts a Centralized Admission Process (CAP) for final selection process for all MBA colleges in the state.
Why you should register for MAH-CET?
Maharashtra in a way is the business hub of India and is home to tons of great colleges for your management education. MAH-CET gives you access to the line share of these colleges. The exam is easier to take compared to CAT and opens doors to great management colleges like JBIMS, KJ Somaiya, Welingkar, etc. It increases your chances of getting to a well reputed B-school and hence is worth giving a shot!
Last day for registration.
The registration for MAH-CET 2021 started on 22 June 2021. July 19 2021, is the last day for the registration process. The registration ends at 11:59 pm. MAH-CET is a great opportunity and caters to some of the prestigious colleges of Maharashtra. Do register for the exam, if not already done!
