The exam will be held on 2nd January 2022.To ace XAT 2022, you need to create an efficient XAT preparation plan and adhere to it until the day of the exam.

Important dates

Important dates

The important dates that one needs to keep in mind are

  • Registration starts : 10th August, 2021
  • Registration ends : 30th November, 2021
  • Admit card download : 20th December 2021 onwards
  • XAT 2022 exam date : 2nd January 2022

XAT 2022 Paper pattern

The XAT 2022 Exam is expected to be held along the same lines as XAT 2021. The exam will consist of the following sections:

  • Verbal and Logical Ability (VA & LR)
  • Decision Making (DM)
  • Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation (QA & DI)
  • General Knowledge (GK)

The speculative XAT 2022 Paper Pattern in terms of the sectional sub-division is given below

Section NameNumber of QuestionsTime Limit
Verbal and Logical Ability26No Section Time Limit (165 Minutes Total)
Decision Making21No Section Time Limit (165 Minutes Total)
Quantitative Aptitude & Data Interpretation27No Section Time Limit (165 Minutes Total)
Paper -II
General Knowledge2515 Minutes
Total99180 Minutes

There will be no sectional time limit for the sections in Paper I. Paper II only consists of the General Knowledge section which is limited to 15 minutes for answering 25 questions.

The marking scheme for the XAT 2022 Exam is also rather interesting. A correct answer is worth 1 mark while an incorrect answer carries a penalty of 0.25 marks. The interesting part of the XAT 2022 Exam Pattern is that the questions which are left alone could also cost the candidate. If the candidate leaves over 8 questions in the XAT 2022 exam, each additional question left would carry a penalty of 0.1 marks. This is the pattern that is expected to be carried forward to the XAT 2022 Exam as well.

One point in favor of the candidates is the fact that the General Knowledge section does not have any negative marking. Therefore, those are 25 questions that every candidate would be attempting completely.

Important parameters

  • XAT 2022 will contain only Multiple Choice based questions.
  • No marks will be deducted for the General Knowledge section in 2nd part.
  • The registration fees for XAT 2022 is Rs 1800 with an additional Rs 300 for every XLRI PGDM programme.
  • Indian candidates can apply through GMAT/GRE for Ex-PGDM whereas an NRI/Foreign national can apply through GMAT for all the programmes. Kindly note GRE scores are only valid for EX-PGDM. Fee for Indian Candidates applying for Ex-PGDM through GMAT/GRE– Rs. 2500/-
  • Fee for NRI/Foreign Candidates applying for one or more programmes through GMAT– Rs. 5000/-

XAT 2022 eligibility criteria

  • Any candidate wishing to gain admission through the XAT Exam has to have a graduation degree (duration of 3 years or more) from a recognized Institute.
  • Those completing their final examination by the second week of June, 2022 can also apply.
  • There is no minimum percentage that candidates need to achieve in order to qualify for the XAT 2022 Exam unlike other MBA Entrance Exams. The only criterion for the XAT 2022 Exam is that the candidate should pass their undergraduate exams.

The heights by great men reached and kept were not attained by sudden flight,
but they, while their companions slept,
were toiling upward in the night.
